Video: Rams fight off Tigers, VCU wins 84-82 [INSIDER]

Score: VCU 84, Louisiana State 82

Recap: Both teams traded runs.  VCU knocked down 4 three pointers as the first half came to a close that put the Rams up 50-38 at the break.  LSU went on a 11-0 run at the top of the second half to even things up. VCU battles back at the very end to get the win.

Notables:

  • Junior Marcus Santos-Silva led all Rams with 17 points.  Santos-Silva went 8-13 from the field and grabbed 11 rebounds, marking his 2nd double-double this season.
  • VCU had 5 players scoring in double digits. Santos-Silva with 17, Marcus Evans and De’Riante Jenkins both with 15 points, Issac Vann and Vince Williams both chipped in 11 on the night.
  • LSU turned the ball over 26 times to VCU’s 16.  VCU scored 37 points off turnovers.
  • LSU out rebounded the Rams 39-32.
  • LSU outscored VCU in the paint 46-30.

Next Game: VCU will host Jacksonville State on Sunday, November 17th.  Tip off is at 12pm and the game will air on MASN.
