Bones Hyland earns Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week

From VCUAthletics.com:

VCU freshman guard Nah’Shon “Bones” Hyland (Wilmington, Del.) has been named Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Rookie of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Hyland’s A-10 honor, his first, comes hours after he erupted for a season-high 15 points on 5-of-7 shooting from 3-point range in an 85-51 victory over Loyola (Md.). In addition to his sharpshooting from beyond the arc, Hyland handed out five assists without committing a turnover. He also grabbed a pair of steals.

A 6-foot-3 point guard, Hyland is averaging 6.2 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game this year for the Rams. He is shooting .370 (17-of-46) from 3-point territory.

Hyland and the Rams will return to action on Thursday, Jan. 2 when they open the New Year and Atlantic 10 Conference play against Fordham at 7 p.m. at the Stuart C. Siegel Center.
