Recap: Tonight’s game marked the first ever meeting between the two schools and VCU’s final out of conference regular season match up for the 2019-2020 season.  VCU saw 3 players score in the double digits.  Freshman Bones Hyland, Senior De’Riante Jenkins both had 15 points and sophomore Keyshawn Curry chipped in 12.

Notables:

  • Freshman guard Bones Hyland scored 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds.
  • The Greyhounds turned the ball over 18 times to VCU’s 9.
  • VCU shot 50% from the field, connecting on 31 of 62 shots.
  • The Rams bench outscored Loyola’s 52-10 and had 24 assists to their 9 turnovers.
  • VCU won the battle on the boards, 40-34.
  • The Rams shot 41% from behind the arc.  They hit 14 of their 34 three point shots.
  • Tonight’s game marked the 143rd consecutive sellout at the Siegel Center for the Rams.

Next Game: VCU will open conference play at home on Thursday, January 2nd at 7pm.  The Rams will host Fordham.  The game will be televised on MASN.
