Santos-Silva Named NABC All-District

(Via VCU Athletics) VCU’S SANTOS-SILVA NAMED NABC ALL-DISTRICT

RICHMOND, Va. – VCU junior forward Marcus Santos-Silva (Taunton, Mass.) has been named All-District Second Team by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).

It’s the first All-District honor for Santos-Silva, who led the Rams in points (12.8), rebounds (8.9) and blocks (1.3) per game, while shooting .569 from the field. The 6-foot-7 forward also recorded 10 double-doubles this season, and logged career-highs in steals (34).

Santos-Silva topped 20 points six times during the 2019-20 season, including a career-high tying 26 on Jan. 5 at George Mason. He also scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and four steals in the Rams’ 84-82 win over 23rd-ranked LSU on Nov. 13 at the Siegel Center.

The Taunton, Mass. native was even better in conference play, averaging 13.1 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game.
