Video: Win streak snapped; Rhode Island defeats VCU 83-68 [INSIDER]

Recap: After January 2nd’s game hosting Davidson was postponed, the Rams would welcome Rhode Island to the Siegel Center for the first home game in 2021. VCU looked to extend their win streak to 8, but Rhode Island had other plans.  URI’s 2nd half surge proved too much for a VCU comeback as our Rams fall, 83-68.

Notables:

  • VCU turned the ball over 16 times to URI’s 19.
  • Rams had 2 players score in double digits. (Hyland 24, Curry 11)
  • VCU shot 39% from the field, connecting on 21 of 54 shots.
  • VCUs bench outscored URI’s 29 – 2.

Next Game: VCU will travel to Washington D.C to play at George Washing University, Wednesday January 13th at 2pm. The game is scheduled to be televised on NBC Sports Net Washington and ESPN+.
