Video: VCU’s team effort outlasts St. Louis; Rams win 67-65 [INSIDER]

Recap: After a tough loss to George Mason on Saturday, Coach Rhoades and the Rams looked to bounce back as they welcomed St. Louis to the Siegel Center.  VCU would be without starter Sophomore Bones Hyland after suffering an injury on Saturday.  Junior Vince Williams and freshman Ace Baldwin Jr. picked up where Hyland left off, leading the team in scoring with 16 and 15 points, respectively in the 67-65 win.

 

Notables:

  • VCU turned the ball over 7 times to SLU’s 15.
  • VCU shot 44% from the field, connecting on 24 of 55 shots.
  • VCU’s bench outscored SLU’s 10 – 5.
  • VCU grabbed 28 rebounds to SLU’s 43.
  • The Rams shot 35% from behind the arc.  They hit 7 of their 20 three point shots.

Next Game: VCU will travel to North Carolina to face Davidson Saturday, Feb 27th at 2pm.  The game will be televised on ESPN.
