VCU has landed its third commitment this off-season from the transfer portal – a 6’6 shooting specialist from Hartford – David Shriver.
After a long talk with my family and talking with coach Rhoades and the staff and meeting the team after a great visit I have decided to spend my last year @VCU_Hoops #Ramnation pic.twitter.com/SWW3qlAoaW

David Shriver is a perfect fit for VCU. He entered the transfer portal after a season with the Hartford Hawks, where he shot 41% from 3, a statistic VCU struggled with last season. The Rams were 99th overall from deep, shooting 34.7%. His ability to light it up from deep will certainly provide VCU a critical role for the 2022-2023 season. Shriver averaged 10.7 ppg and 4.2 rpg at Hartford in one season.
Several VCU players hinted that something big was coming on Friday, and the enthusiasm is on full display among the the group right now:
Fellas, can someone break the news before dinner??? It’s Friday, gorgeous outside and we are trying to go out! pic.twitter.com/ZVZZIHuabI
