JeQuan was VCU's #1 priority recruit at the point guard position and VCU's coaching staff have been recruiting him for a long time going back to the July evaluation period where he played AAU with the Tennessee Tigers. He's a talented 6'0 guard who will fit perfectly into VCU's 'Havoc' style of play. He is extremely quick and has a very good mid-range game. Over the course of his recruitment several schools came in to see him including Georgia, Northern Iowa, Alabama, NC State, Wichita State, and Tennessee. It came down to UGA and VCU in the end.

Lewis is a 2-sport standout at Dickson County High as he is Dickson County's quarterback on the football field in the fall. When he is quarterbacking Dickson County on the hardwood he's averaging 17.3 ppg, 4.1 apg, and 3.9 steals per contest so far in this, his junior season. ESPN has him rated as the 8th-ranked player in Tennessee and gives him a grade of 89. As one of the best on the ball defenders in Tennessee with excellent quickness and proficient in ball screen situations, he seems tailor-made to wreak havoc.

JeQuan was kind enough to give us a quick interview for VCURamNation following his commitment:
