VCU scored one of their highest rated recruits in the history of the program when they landed Tevin Mack over the likes of UConn, Georgia, Clemson and South Carolina two months ago. Ram fans were excited then but have no doubt grown even more excited while watching the Columbia, SC native drop multiple 40-point performances en route to moving into ESPN's top-50 today at No.47.

Mack is the third highest rated recruit to ever commit to VCU, joining 2014's Terry Larrier (No.43) as VCU's only two ESPN top-50 recruits in the history of the program.

1990 commit and VCU legend, Kendrick Warren, never saw his name on an ESPN top-100 list as those rankings did no exist at that point but did earn an invitation to that year's McDonald's All-American game, making Warren the overall top recruit to ever sign with the Rams.

Tevin Mack's commitment to the Rams drew national attention as the 6'7 guard/forward's recruitment heated up between defending national champ, UConn, home-state teams South Carolina and Clemson and VCU. Recruiting site 247sports.com saw the majority of their predictions for make point toward UConn and Georgia early but quickly moved to VCU on a last-second run where he eventually committed.

Mack has been described as an elite scorer who can put points on the board in a number of ways. The Rams will need that production as VCU graduates leading scorer, Treveon Graham, as well as backcourt mate Briante Weber and reserve big, Jarred Guest, this coming May.
