After 18 years, Ryan Kopacsi steps down as VCU Band Director

<span class="s1">RICHMOND, Va. – Ryan Kopacsi has chosen to not return as director of the school’s pep band, “The Peppas”.</span>
<span class="s1"> </span><span class="s1">“We did everything that we could to keep Ryan. He decided to leave on his own, but we appreciate his long service to VCU as he goes in a different direction with his life,” said VCU Director of Athletics Ed McLaughlin.</span>
<span class="s1">McLaughlin says VCU will begin a search for a new pep band director immediately.</span>
<span class="s1">Kopacsi has served as band director for the Peppas, known for their bold song catalogue and high-energy performances at VCU Athletic contests, for 18 years.</span>
