Two more promising 2015 recruits announced trimmed lists that include VCU today.

Levan Alston, a 6'4 ESPN top-100 (No.81) shooting guard from Haverford, PA narrowed his list to VCU, Notre Dame, Temple, Penn State, Marquette and Penn. Even without a commitment Alston's list could be a win for VCU, as he scratched off A-10 rivals Saint Joseph's and Rhode Island, both of whom had offers on the table.

VCU had visited Alston's home in April and then saw the Team Final sharpshooter take an unofficial visit to VCU roughly a month later.

The Rams also made the top five of 6'8 240 forward, Keith Stone, who along with VCU has narrowed his options down to Florida, Alabama, South Carolina and Virginia Tech.

Stone's list is full of interest for VCU fans.

Shaka Smart last served as an assistant under current Florida head coach, Billy Donavan, as did current Alabama coach, Anthony Grant, who as you all know was previously the head coach at VCU prior to Smart taking the program to where it is today (Grant currently sits on one of the hottest seats in college basketball as  many Tide fans have called for his removal after two NCAA tournament-less seasons including last season's 13-19 finish). It also includes semi-rival, Virginia Tech, who VCU last played this past December in the Governor's Holiday Hoops Classic, a 30-point VCU win.

Stone, a Florida native, has blown up as of late, just landing his Florida offer two days ago.

The Rams are in the mix for a ton of talented recruits so stay tuned over the next several months for more glimpses at the bright future of VCU basketball.
