Former VCU point guard Darius Theus is returning to VCU, this time on the coaching staff as Director of Player Development. VCU head coach Mike Rhoades made the announcement on Wednesday on Fox Sports 910 with Wes McElroy. He will be responsible for preparing student-athletes for personal, academic, and athletic development success.
Theus will replace former VCU point guard Joey Rodriguez, who held that position last season, but left VCU this offseason to take an assistant coach position at Florida International.

His return to Richmond is welcomed by VCU fans, who have felt strong bond with Darius, a player who took the Rams to the NCAA tournament 3 times, and ranks 3rd in school history with 237 steals.
In addition to seeing Theus on the bench this season, you can expect to see Mr. Theus in the crowd, likely with his infamous "VCU #10 Is My Son" sign.
