Davidson snaps VCU's 8 game win streak, 69-63

The Rams shot just 35% and went 3-17 from 3 in a road loss to the Davidson Wildcats, who are now 9-7 overall, 2-3 in the Atlantic 10. Davidson's two leading scorers, Jack Gibbs and Peyton Aldridge, entered the game averaging 21 points each, but today combined for 30 and 24, a force that proved unstoppable for the Rams.

JeQuan Lewis led VCU in scoring with 17 points, while Ahmed Hamdy put up a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The Rams had only 11 turnovers, but struggled with shooting, often trying to force the 3, going 3-17 overall from 3.

The Rams entered today's matchup on an 8 game win streak, highlighted by a perfect 4-0 record in Atlantic 10 play. Davidson, on the other hand, had struggled in conference at 1-3, losing at home to Richmond and Fordham, with an overall record of 8-7.

VCU (14-3, 4-1) is now 2nd in the Atlantic 10, behind the Richmond Spiders (10-6, 5-0), who are now undefeated in conference play. The Rams will travel next to the Bronx to face the Fordham Rams (7-9) this Wednesday (January 18th).
