VCU freshman De'Riante Jenkins will be out 6-8 weeks after suffering a broken foot during Friday's win over George Mason. Jenkins had a great game on Friday with 6 points, shooting 3-4 in 12 minutes, but went down in the second half with an obvious foot injury. He continued to play through the injury, before being pulled to the bench for medical attention.
According to RTD's Tim Pearrell, the injury is a fracture in the 5th metatarsal in his foot. He completed the procedure this morning.

Jenkins has become a significant role player for the Rams, averaging 5 ppg and 1.9 rpg in 14 minutes per game. His ability to score and distribute the ball has been very effective for a VCU team that at times has struggled from 3. His 2pt and 3pt percentages were .67 and .44, respectively. The Rams will look for perimeter scoring in others like Doug Brooks and potentially Malik Crowfield, while Samir Doughty could also see increased minutes to fill in offensive gaps.
The Rams will hit the road tomorrow to face the Duquesne Dukes, who are currently 8-6 and riding a 4-game win streak.
