Drexel rises to the top of latest CAA Bloggers Poll, Rams jump to second

The Dragons rose to first after a clean weekend that extended Drexel's win streak to 11 games. VCU also leapfrogged GMU after extending their win streak to nine, and became the first CAA team to reach 20 wins this season.

Like the Patriots, Northeastern fell two spots in our latest poll after losing both of their games since last week's rankings. The Huskies fell 61-53 at home against Drexel, and came up three points short at VCU in a game that wasn't as close as the final score indicates.

Georgia State and Delaware were the beneficiaries of the Huskies rough week, GSU rising to fifth, Delaware to sixth after taking down George Mason.

Spots 8-12 remained the same in this week's poll.

Jerry Beach of Hofstra blog Defiantly Dutch: "Mason has been no. 1 in my poll for six weeks, though I thought the last couple weeks that Drexel was playing the best ball. But I always believe no. 1 has to be beaten in order to lose its spot. So, hence, Drexel, now that Mason has been beaten again. I think VCU is playing better than Mason but Mason hasn’t done enough to fall two spots. I usually use head-to-head as a tiebreaker for two closely matched teams, but Delaware has three wins over teams ahead of it in the standings and Northeastern has just one so I went with the Blue Hens."
