Before you head out tonight for some libations, do a quick study of these stats to impress your VCU friends at that event you plan to attend tonight.

LIKE BRADFORD, LIKE JORDAN[/HEADING=3]
Bradford Burgess sophomore stats: 28.6 min, 10.4 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.2 apg, 1 spg, 48% fg%, 37.3% 3p%
Jordan Burgess sophomore stats:  21.3 min, 10 ppg, 4 rpg, 1.7 apg, 1.3 spg, 68.8% fg%, 50% 3p%

TO BRI THE MAN YOU GOTTA BEAT THE MAN[/HEADING=3]
Briante Weber has led the nation in steals percentage every season since beginning his career at VCU. He has just two games under his belt but has almost doubled his steals percentage from previous seasons at 13.3%. VCU as a team ranked No.1 nationally in steals percentage all of those seasons but currently checks in at No.5 nationally (I'll take VCU versus the field in that one as the season progresses).

FRESHMEN PHENOMS[/HEADING=3]
The last time a freshman posted a 20-point game came on January 19, 2011 when Rob Brandenberg dropped 23 on Georgia State as senior guard, Brandon Rozzell, sat due to injury (his second game with 20 or more in three tries after the injury). Terry Larrier matched that in his third game as a VCU freshman, posting 21 points in 20 minutes last night against Maryland Eastern Shore. Larrier hit seven of his 10 attempts in the win.

CENTURY MARKS[/HEADING=3]
VCU dropped 106 points on Maryland Eastern Shore Thursday night, their first time hitting the century mark since Troy Daniels went nuts on ETSU back on January 2, 2013. The 106 points was the most a VCU team has scored since VCU's CBI Championship squad dropped 112 on Towson on January 27, 2010. Sophomore Bradford Burgess posted a game-high 22 points in that win in just 14 minutes of play. The last team to score 100 more than once in a season came during the 2006-2007 season, the Eric Maynor Duke dagger team that accomplished the feat twice.

WE'RE #10!!![/HEADING=3]
I get it, it's early. But after three games VCU's 92.7 points per game ranks 10th nationally. Unfortunately the Rams 71 ppg surrendered checks in at No.257. And all this time I thought we were a defensive team!

GOOD STAT, BAD STAT[/HEADING=3]
Good Stat: Jonathan Williams assist rate after three games is an impressive: 30.7
Bad Stat: Jonathan Williams turnover rate after three is a not-so-impressive: 49.9
Look, I never played D1 college hoops, or college hoops at any level outside of some LEGIT Cary St. games, but I gotta imagine there is no harder position for a freshman than running the team at the point. That's why I'm a lot more excited about Williams' ridiculous ability to cut through defenders and find the open man than a few sloppy plays to start his career at a big-time program.

POINTS PER 40 MINUTES[/HEADING=3]
I love looking at our rosters stats and seeing five guys posting double-digit scoring averages (Johnson 18.3, Graham 18, Larrier 10.7, Weber 10, Burgess 10), but for the sake of fairness (but mostly for fun) let's see how guys stack up per 40 minutes.

Melvin Johnson - 29.3
Treveon Graham - 25.7
Terry Larrier - 25.2
Doug Brooks - 21.3
JeQuan Lewis - 19.1
Jordan Burgess - 18.8
Briante Weber - 18.2
Justin Tillman - 16.3
Michael Gilmore - 13.7
Jonathan Williams - 9.8
Antravious Simmons - 9.3
Jarred Guest - 9.2
Mo Alie-Cox - 7.4
Tory Burston - 0

Hm. I guess that wasn't actually that fun to look at, but there it is just the same.

BRIANTE PER 40[/HEADING=3]
Points per 40 = 18.2
Assists per 40 = 12.7
Steals per 40 = 10
Rebounds per 40 = 9
