<a href="https://www.vcuramnation.com/2015/10/help-sherron-mills-fight-with-als/sherron-mills/" rel="attachment wp-att-14839"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-14839" src="https://www.vcuramnation.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Sherron-Mills-199x300.jpg" alt="Sherron-Mills" width="199" height="300" /></a>Sherron Mills, a former VCU basketball player, needs your help. Sherron was recently diagnosed with ALS (also known as “Lou Gehrig’s Disease”), and will begin a long journey to battle this disease.

Sherron Mills joined VCU in 1990 by way of Chowan College, played 3 years for the Rams, then was drafted in the 2nd round (2nd pick) of the 1993 NBA draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. He eventually went on to play overseas through the 2000s.

Sherron, family, and friends, are asking for your help to raise money to pay for a specialized chair and medical equipment. From the GoFundMe page:

Our initial fundraising goal is $40,000 in tribute to Sherron’s nickname and his VCU college basketball number “40”. We would love to exceed the 40k goal in the hope of helping to raise money to fulfill 40ty’s desire to make a nice contribution to the ALS Foundation in order to help others people stricken with this disease.

On behalf of Sherron and his family, we prayerfully ask for support from all of his family, friends, the town of Snow Hill, the VCU sports community, previous co-workers, acquaintances and anyone in the world who would like to help with the fight against ALS!

Help spread the word by sharing this page, and please contribute anything you can, to someone who greatly appreciates your support, is part of our VCU family, and will benefit directly from your contribution:
