<blockquote>RICHMOND, Va. – Freshmen Jordan Burgess and Mo Alie-Cox of the VCU men's basketball team have been declared partial qualifiers by the NCAA, thus not being eligible for competition for the 2012-13 season.
Burgess will be allowed to participate in practice throughout the year. Alie-Cox will not participate in practice or competition this year, but will be on scholarship. Both will be eligible for competition in 2013-14.
"Both Jordan and Mo have begun their academic careers at VCU in an exemplary way," Head Coach Shaka Smart said. Ëach student-athlete's long term development, on and off the court, remains our primary focus."</blockquote>
