Longwood transfer Khris Lane to choose between VCU and Pittsburgh

Longwood graduate transfer Khris Lane will decide between VCU and Pittsburgh within the next week according to multiple sources. Lane is set to visit VCU this weekend and could become VCU's second transfer commitment since landing big-time scorer Marcus Evans on Monday evening.

A Richmond native and Benedictine grad, Lane originally committed to Drexel out of high school before spending his sophomore and junior seasons back in Virginia at Longwood University. The 6'6 245 forward is coming off a career year with the Lancers, averaging a career-high 17.1 points and 7.3 rebounds while posting an efficient 58.8% true shooting percentage as a junior.

Lane has been a serviceable deep threat during his career, hitting 35.9% of his career threes but has thrived inside the arc, finishing 59.9% of his two-point buckets last season and just under 63% in conference play. He averaged just over 24 points per game in his last four contests as a Lancer.

Lane had previously visited Rhode Island and recently canceled a visit with Wake Forest, narrowing his list down to VCU and the Panthers of Pittsburgh. Pitt plays out of the ACC but finished 16-17 this past season with a 4-14 conference finish.
