MAYNOR ADDS THIRD CAA WEEKLY HONOR

RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University senior Eric Maynor (Raeford, N.C.) was named CAA Co-Player of the Week Monday, the third time he’s been honored by the league this season.

Maynor averaged 27.0 points and 6.0 rebounds, while shooting .567 (17-of-30) from the field in a pair of VCU victories.

A 6-3 point guard, Maynor scored 28 points and handed out six assists in a 76-71 triumph over George Mason on Saturday, Jan. 24. That victory allowed the Black and Gold to hold onto a share of first place in the league standings. Additionally, Maynor became VCU’s all-time assist leader during that contest. Maynor has 587 assists and leads the conference in that category this season with 6.2 per game.

Maynor also scored 26 points and dished out six helpers in a 65-50 win over Georgia State Jan. 21 in Atlanta.

In 20 games this season, Maynor is averaging 22.4 points and 6.2 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals.

VCU returns to action on Tuesday, Jan. 27 when the Rams host Northeastern at the Stuart C. Siegel Center at 9 p.m. ESPNU will televise that game.
