VCU legend, Eric Maynor, has reportedly just signed a deal with Openjobmetis Verese of Italy's top pro league, joining the likes of Bradford Burgess and Juvonte Reddic who currently compete in Lega Basket Serie A.

The former Ram turned NBA journeyman joined the Washington Wizards after a brief stint with the Portland Trailblazers. Eric was originally drafted by the Utah Jazz with the 20th overall pick in 2009 but was eventually traded to the OKC Thunder where he found most of his pro success prior to tearing his ACL in 2012.

Maynor played backup duties to some of the NBA's top point guards along each stop, starting with Deron Williams at Utah, Russell Westbrook in OKC, Damian Lillard in Portland then most recently John Wall in DC.

The Fayetteville, NC native led VCU to two NCAA tournaments during his time in Richmond, scoring 22 points including the game-winning shot as a sophomore to upset Duke in the first round of the NCAA tournament before falling in OT to Pitt the following game. He joined Larry Sanders to take the Rams back to the tournament two seasons later, falling by one point to the UCLA Bruins with a chance to once again win it at the end.

Maynor is one of four VCU men's hoops players to have his jersey retired and holds the all-time record for points and assists.
