For the second consecutive year VCU forward, Jarren McAllister, will miss the season following an ACL tear.
The redshirt sophomore tore his ACL in his right knee in practice this week. He missed all of last season after tearing his left ACL in a game against Penn State.
"It's just devastating once again after watching Jarren's daily approach to get back on the court from last year's injury. He's an amazing young man who will again grind and rehab under the care of our medical staff and will get back with his teammates," said Rams Head Coach Mike Rhoades.
The 6'4 forward appeared in 16 games his freshman season, logging a total of 114 minutes before his first ACL tear. He's the second VCU player within almost a week's time to suffer that injury, joining sophomore Jameer Watkins who will miss the 2021-22 season due to ACL tear as well.
The Rams will also be without sophomore Ace Baldwin for a large chunk of this upcoming season as well. Baldwin tore his achilles this past summer, but by all reports is ahead of schedule in his recovery and could potentially join his teammates for conference play this season.
