McLaughlin brings the cheese to the Squirrels

New VCU AD Ed McLaughlin recently threw out the first pitch at a Richmond Flying Squirrels game. Didn't make it out that evening? Check out the VCUAthletics.com video below as well as some previous Squirrels games that saw other Rams kicking off the action.

Now, if I had to go with one of these guys today as my starter I'd have to give the ball to the new guy. McLaughlin may have been pitching from little league distance, but you can still see some serious pepper behind his fastball. He's got some control issues, but I'm convinced some Ricky Vaughn glasses and a jean vest would do him wonders.

Burgess and Rozzell displayed some nice control, and looked real cool doing it, but those "changeups" they floated over the mound look like a hitters dream to me. I haven't swung a bat in years but am pretty sure I could jack one of those over the left field wall with an aluminum bat (maybe wood).

Video of Shaka Smart's pitch and his 7th-inning serenade at Chicago's Wrigley Field have been removed from YouTube by the MLB. We've got a Twitter shout out for the first person who can find us a working version of that.
