After breaking the VCU all-time 3 point shooting record in his career at VCU, Melvin Johnson has been selected to the 3-point roster for the college Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships. The annual event takes place this Thursday (March 31st) at 9:00 PM on ESPN.
Melvin is the 2nd VCU player in the past 4 years to participate, after Troy Daniels (now a Charlotte Hornet) won the competition in 2013. Only 8 collegiate players are invited to this particular competition which features the elite 3 point shooters in the country.
A complete list of all participants will be released soon, but plan to tune in this Thursday night to catch Melvin in a VCU jersey one last time!
