It was a fun ride while it lasted, but last night the Rams came up just short against last year's national runner-up, Butler Bulldogs. Jamie Skeen lead VCU with 27 points, but the Bulldog defense was just too much for the Rams usual potent 3-point attack, and VCU struggled to find open shots around the perimeter. Thousands of fans made the trip to Houston to root on the black-and-gold in one of the NCAA tournament's most improbable 5-game runs.  The Bulldogs got the W, but VCU made their mark on the national stage, and became only the third team seeded 11 or lower to advance to the round of four, the first ever to win 5 games without making it to the title game. We hate to see the season end, but look forward to a bright future with head coach Shaka Smart and the talented young squad returning this November.
