With just 6:45 to play, Josh Banks checked into the game for his first time and proceed to go on a 5-0 run all by himself.
Banks used a fast-break and layup to give the Rams a 55-54 lead before hitting a three-pointer on the next possession.
The Rams never relinquished the lead from that point forward.
Campbell pulled within 2 points with 26 seconds left in the second half, but freshman, Jayden Nunn, hit two free throws that would prove to be the final points of the game.
Banks finished the night with 5 points in 3 minutes, while Nunn added 10 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals.
VCU tallied up a total of 21 points off 18 Campbell turnovers.
The Rams also won the battle on the boards, 33-32, which led to 13 second-chance points.
Levi Stockard scored 8 of the Rams first 10 points in the game, but they didn't come easy, or often, for VCU.
