Tonight's match up against the UNCW Seahawks marks the open of conference play for both teams.  It also marked the 8th consecutive sell out at The Stuart C. Siegel Center.

The Rams versus the Seahawks saw two of the nations top 10 youngest teams meet on Broad st Saturday night.  UNCW's age certainly showed in the first half with sloppy play, turning the ball over 17 times allowing VCU to take an early lead of 45-32 at the break and finishing strong 87-64.

The win moved the Rams to 7-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play.

Three point shooting, once again, made the difference for the Rams.  The Rams took 32 long distance shots compared to the Seahawks 12.  The Rams shot 34% from behind the arc on the night with Senior Brad Burgess leading the  way going 5-10 ending with  22 points on the night.

Freshman Treveon Graham provided a big help off the bench.  He shot 55% going 6-11 with 15 points in just 19 minutes of action.

Sophomore Juvonte Reddic had another aggressive showing in the paint with 16 points and 9 rebounds on the night.

Coach Smarts Havoc defense kept the Seahawks in a daze.  The Rams broke the school record for steals in a game, previously held at 19, finishing with  20.

VCU will be going for a record breaking 9th consecutive sellout as they host UAB on Tuesday.
