Senior, Corey Douglas, scored the first 5 points for the Rams as VCU (6-2) won their fourth straight contest of the season. Douglas would finished with 11 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals in the Rams 93-68 win.
Western Carolina was aggressive though and fought back to run a mostly balanced first half. The two teams seemed to mostly trade baskets until the Catamounts tied the game at 29 points with 4:45 minutes before the half.
From there, Bones Hyland poured in 8 straight for the Rams, including his third three of the opening 20 minutes. Hyland finished the night with 31 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals.
