After splitting the regular season series, it was only fitting that the road to the CAA Finals would match up VCU with George Mason. Mason took the first game of the series with a buzzer beater on Valentine's Day but VCU followed up with a dominating performance in Richmond. Today's semi final match up didn't disappoint Ram fans as VCU won, 74-64 and will face Drexel in the CAA Finals on Monday.

VCU couldn't have asked for a better start going on a 21-0 run to start the game. VCU's defense created 8 turnovers before Mason was able to put any points on the board. Mason managed to get it together to end the first half by trailing by just 16.

VCU made its first 8 three pointers of the game, 3 of those coming from Senior Bradford Burgess in the first half. Burgess would go on to be 6 for 15 from the field leading all VCU scorers with 20.

The 2nd half saw Mason mount an impressive run cutting the Rams initial lead to just 9 points with 8 minutes left in the game. The Patriots run saw Sophomore DJ Haley pick up his 4th foul and Sophomore Juvonte Reddic picked up his 3rd foul with most of the 2nd half to play.

Junior Troy Daniels played a huge roll from behind the arc hitting 4 of 7 shots chipping in 17 points. Sophomore Rob Brandenberg had another big performance in the Tournament with 14 points for the Rams.

The Patriots out rebounded the Rams 41-24 and pretty much shot identical to the Rams with 42% to the Rams 42.3%

The Rams will try to even out the series with Drexel on Monday night as Drexel upended the Rams in Philly during regular season play.
