The Rams jumped out to a quick lead but Drexel's lights out shooting from long range (10-17) proved to be too much for the black and gold.

Bradford Burgess lead all scores with 30 points, and added 8 rebounds and 3 assists in 36 minutes of play.

Larry Sanders came up just short of his 5th double double of the season, grabbing 9 rebounds to go along with 15 points on 6-15 shooting. Larry added 4 blocks, an assist, and 1 steal.

Joey Rodriguez lead the Rams with 6 assists to go along with 4 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals.

The Rams were 20-21 from the free throw line, but a Larry Sanders miss with under a minute to go eventually forced the Rams to take a desperation 3 in the waining seconds of the game.

Drexel's Chris Fouch and Gerald Coles had 19 points each. Jaime Harris added 15 for the Dragon's in a complete 40 minutes of play.

The Rams slow start has found them in an unfamiliar place, tied for 9th place in the CAA alongside James Madison and Delaware (Towson remains the conferences only winless team).

VCU is 2-3 in road games this season, 0-2 in conference.

The Rams (9-4) take on the Blue Hens of Delaware this Saturday at the Siegel Center, 2:00.
