Davidson was able to keep a two-possession cushion for most of the first half, but a jumper by Lewis with 8:33 on the clock would start a 15-4 run by the Rams to take a 31-28 lead into the locker room. </span>
Davidson sharpshooter, Jack Gibbs, who also ended with 27 points and 9 rebounds on the night, had a team high 12 points at intermission.

A Mo Alie-Cox (10pts/5reb) dunk with 15:53 left to play would give the Rams a 38-36 advantage. It was the final lead change of the night.
The Rams used a rebounding differential of 44-36 to add 12 second-chance points.
Davidson, however, was able to outscore VCU in the paint, 32-26.
The win tonight secures the Rams their 11th consecutive year of having at least 20 wins.
