Will Wade got more good news today as 2017 power forward target, Aamir Simms, listed VCU among the six schools he will be choosing from to make his future college hoops home.
The Rams made the cut alongside Iowa State, Pittsburgh, Miami, Clemson and Notre Dame.
Simms is ranked No.93 nationally according to Rivals.com and is listed at 6'8 by both ESPN and Rivals.
The Blue Ridge product picked up his VCU offer July of 2015, giving Will Wade and Co. time to form a strong relationship with the rising high school senior. A commitment from Simms would give VCU two players from Blue Ridge on the 2017-18 version of havoc, as the Rams received a commitment from walk-on Sasha Yadrishchenskiy this past June.
This news comes just off the announcement of VCU making the final two for top-100 guard, Lavar Batts, giving VCU a potentially dangerous inside-out combo for future squads.
