VCU came out hot and never looked back in A-10 semi-final action today, blitzing the Saint Louis Billikens, 90-78, to earn a spot in the 2023 Atlantic 10 Championship game.

SLU opened the game with a 5-0 run, but from there on the Rams would put on one of their best offensive performances of the season in the win, connecting on 55.7% of their attempts including a red-hot 47.4% from distance. It was a total team effort as well, with five Rams scoring in double-digits and another, Jalen DeLoach, adding nine points for the black and gold as well.

Jayden led led all scorers with 18 points in the win, 15 of which came in the second half as the No.23 Ram looked like another famous 23 at times. Nunn hit all three of his three-point attempts, tying David Shriver's three on four attempts. Shriver finished with 11 points off the bench for VCU.

Jamir Watkins came off the bench as well, but played 27.25 minutes, scoring 15 points to go with five rebounds, two assists and a steal. Watkins drew a game-high seven fouls on the Billikens in the win.

Brandon Johns Jr. led all players with nine rebounds and added an efficient 16 points in the win. He finished with a game-high four steals on a night VCU would turn SLU over 15 times.

Ace Baldwin added 13 points and a team-high six assists.

The Rams led by as many as 25 points in the second half before holding on for the 12-point win.

With that win VCU punches a ticket to their second conference title game over the last three seasons. They will take on the winner of 2-seed Dayton and 3-seed Fordham. The black and gold went 2-1 against that group this season, splitting the season series with Dayton and winning their only matchup with Fordham.

The Championship game tips up at 1PM Sunday and will air on CBS.
