Rams show no mercy in taking down the Patriots, 85-70

VCU (16-7; 9-3 A10) was scorching-hot from the field in the first 8 minutes of the second half as the Rams hit nine of their first ten shots—included going 5-5 from range.

Coming out of the halftime locker room with a ten point lead, the Rams scored another 45 points in the second half to take down the Patriots of George Mason, 85-70.

The Rams shot 56% from the floor on the game and 45% from range.

During the second half VCU connect on 17 of their 28 field goals attempts for 61%

VCU also netted 16 of their 18 free throws for 89%.

All five starters for VCU ended the game in double figures

Vince Williams and Ace Baldwin led the scoring charge with 18 points coming from each.

Baldwin coupled his new career-high in scoring with his first career double-double as he dished out 10 assists in his 40 minutes of action.

Jayden Nunn and Hason Ward led the Rams with 6 rebounds each. They also had 15 and 10 points respectively.

KeShawn Curry rounded out the starters with 11 points.

The Rams out-rebounded the Patriots 30-25.

The Patriots turned the ball over 17 times that led to 20 points for VCU—including 17 coming from the fast break.

VCU finished the game with only 12 turnovers—they average 15 turnovers-per-game on the season.

This is the third win in three games for VCU.

The Rams have won six of their last seven games.

VCU returns to action on Tuesday, February 15th, as they head to Fordham to take on the Rams. That game is set to tip at 7pm EST and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
