Senior Justin Tillman led all Rams in scoring with 26 points on 11 of 17 shooting from the field. Tillman also grabbed 13 rebounds, making it his 13th double-double of the season. Sophomore De’Riante scored 17 points and senior Johnny Williams earned 11 points and 6 assists in the win.

It was a full team effort against the minutemen. 9 Rams would get in the scoring column and VCU’s bench was responsible for 20 points in the win.

Coach Rhoades accomplished something that neither former VCU coaches Smart or Wade could do, get a win in Amherst.

Minuteman sophomore Luwane Pipkins shot 8-13 from three point land and ended with 38 points in 37 minutes.

VCU shot 32-59 from the field and 9-22 from behind the arc. The game saw 14 lead changes and was tied up 6 times.

This win was VCU’s first at UMASS since they joined the conference 4 years ago and with a Richmond loss and Saint Joseph's loss, move VCU into a tie for 4th place in the Atlantic 10 conference and owns the tiebreak over Saint Louis.

The win move VCU to 16-12 (8-7) on the season. VCU will play St. Bonaventure at home on Saturday, February 24th at 8pm.
