Rams win seventh straight; take down Pats, 66-61

Just four days after postponing their game against Davidson, the Rams (9-2, 2-0) headed to Farifax to take on the Patriots of George Mason.

VCU trailed by as many as 9 points in the first half.

A bucket by Corey Douglas capped a 14-2 VCU run and gave the Rams a 23-22 lead—their first since opening the game 3-0.

Bones Hyland scored the Rams first 7 points. He ended the night with a game-high in both points and rebounds; 23 and 10, respectively.

VCU shot 44% from the field over all while hitting 6 of their 17 three-point attempts.

George Mason turned the ball over 16 times leading to 10 points for VCU.

Junior, Vince Williams, was the only other Ram in double-digits tonight with 12 points. Both Williams and Hyland recorded 3 steals each.

VCU will return to action Saturday, January 9th, as they host the Rams of Rhode Island. That game is set to tip at 2pm EST and will be broadcast on CBSSN.
