The Rams started out cold going 0 for their first 8 shots, and didn't hit their first field goal until nearly 5 minutes into the game when Issac Vann (4pts/3ast) scored a layup on a fastbreak.

VCU would go on to open the game on 16-2 run over the first 8 minutes of play.

The Eagles constantly ran into pressure on the offensive end on virtually every possession and were only able to convert 6 field goals in the first half.

VCU however closed the first half on a 17-0 run.

FGCU used a 13-1 run in the second half to get within 21 points of the Rams, but a three-pointer by Senior Guard, Malik Crowfield (3pts/3reb) hit pause on any momentum the Eagles were building as the Rams cruised to a 30 point home victory.

Junior Big Man, Marcus Santos-Silva, just barely missed the opportunity for his third double-double in just five games. He ended the night with 9 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 steals.
