Recap: Evans scores 23 as the Rams ground the Hawks, 75-63

VCU (25-6; 16-2 A10) already had the guaranteed #1 seed heading into Friday nights contest against Saint Joseph's University, but the Rams were on another kind of mission as the took down the Hawks, 75-63.

Always an emotional night when it's the final home game of the season, but the win VCU improved its current win streak to 12 games.

Junior, Marcus Evans, scored a game-high 23 points to go along with 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals.

After taking a 41-33 lead into the locker room, Evans scored the first 10 points of the second half for the Rams.

Sharpshooter, Malik Crowfield, continued his hot streak of late knocking down a pair of three-pointers. He ended the night with 6 points—all coming in the second half.

Marcus Santos-Silva grabbed a team-high 9 rebounds to go along with his 3 points.

Despite the six lead changes early in the first half, the Rams took the 14-12 lead behind an Issac Vann three-pointer with 13:42 remaining in the first half.

Vann closed out the night with a 15 point and 4 rebound performance.

De'Riante Jenkins was the final Ram to tally a double-digit scoring total as he went for 11 point, 6 rebound, 4 assist night.

The game tonight was the 134th consecutive sellout for the Stuart C. Siegel Center.

VCU will head to Brooklyn next week where they will take on the winner of the Rhode Island/La Salle matchup. VCU's' first game will tip-off at 12pm on Friday, March 15th.
