A jumper from De'Riante Jenkins tied the game at 21 with just under nine minutes to play in the first half.
On the next VCU possession Jenkins knocked down his second three pointer of the night to take the 24-21 lead.

But it was Marcus Evans that scored the final 13 points of the half, and the first two points of the second, for the Rams. He would end the night with a game-high 25 points, 2 assist, 1 steal performance—all while going nearly 25 minutes of play without a single turnover.
Evans two free throws to start the second half for VCU would be the beginnings of an 18-0 run by the Rams.
The Colonials wouldn't score their first field goal of the second half until the 9:49 mark—going just over ten full minutes of play—when Justin Mazulla (9pts/3reb/4ast) hit a layup.
DJ Williams would lead all GW scorers with 22 points and 7 rebounds.
Marcus Santos-Silva was the only other Ram in double digit scoring with 14 points and 7 rebounds.
