Grant Riller led all scorers today with 30 points as the Cougars of the College of Charleston beat VCU at home, 83-79.

The Rams (7-4) struggled once again with turning the ball over as the Cougars turned 16 VCU miscues into 22 points.

Whereas the Rams were only able to translate 23 Charleston turnovers into 21 points.

The Rams shot a respectable 42% from the field today on 27-64 shooting. But, the combination of Jarrell Brantley and Riller was just too much f or VCU to overcome. The duo was responsible for 56 of Charlestons 83 points.

De'Riante Jenkins led the Rams in scoring with 23 points. The junior shot 9-19 from the floor for 47% while also grabbing two steals for the Rams.

Big man, Marcus Santos-Silva recorded his second double-double in the last three game as he chipped in 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Freshman, Vince Williams, put in 13 points for the Rams on 5-6 shooting from the floor. He also added 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals to his impressive evening on the floor.

Marcus Evans was the only other Ram in double figures with 10 points and 3 assist.

Foul shooting continues to be a concern for the Rams as they missed 11 free throws in the second half alone. VCU converted 4-4 free throws during the first half, but was only able to connect on 15-26 in the second half.

The Rams will return to action in one week on December 22nd as the welcome the Shockers of Wichita State. That game is scheduled for a 4pm EST tip-off.
