In the final non-conference game of the regular season, VCU (9-4 overall) used 14-29 shooting from long distance to bulldoze past Rider, 90-79.
As part of a 49 point first-half performance, the Rams went into the locker room after 20 minutes shooting 62.5% (20-32 FG) overall, and 50% (6-12) from three-point land.
VCU ended the contest with an electric long-distance shooting performance going 14-29 from distance for 48%.
Six different Rams made a three pointer today, while four different Rams made two or more.
De'Riante Jenkins accounted for two three-pointers, Marcus Evans and Mike'l Simms both had three three-pointers, and Malik Crowfield led the way shooting 4-6 from range.
Both squads ended the first half with 8 steals in the box score. But, Rider committed 12 turnovers, while VCU only coughed the ball up 10 times. The second half was much more controlled for both teams as VCU and Rider ended with 13 and 14 turnovers, respectively.
