Recap: VCU win in Pittsburgh, beat Duquesne 80-74

After a tough road loss in Rhode Island on Wednesday, VCU traveled to Pittsburg on Saturday in search of another Atlantic 10 road win. It wasn’t easy but VCU would walk away the victor, 80-74.

The rams started off hot but Duquesne mounted an offensive effort that had the black and gold with their backs against the wall.

Fortunately, Junior Marcus Evans had the hot hand. He led everyone in scoring with 22 point, shooting 6-11 from the field.

Sophomore Marcus Santos-Silva had another big game chipping in 20 points along with 12 rebounds. Santos-Silva also connected on 4-4 from the free throw line.

In the seventh meeting between the two schools, junior Issac Vann scored 11 point along with 4 assists in the win.

VCU out rebounded the Dukes 45-29. Duquesne turned the ball over 17 times to the rams 13.

The win moves VCU to 14-6 (5-2) on the season. VCU will host George Mason University on Saturday February 2nd at 6:30pm. The game will be televised on NBC Sports Network.
