Louisville transfer and former John Marshall top-100 star, Roosevelt Wheeler, announced today he is joining new VCU head coach Ryan Odom's roster. Wheeler is a 6-foot-11, 240 lb big man who is a former four-star and top-100 recruit of the 2021 class.
Wheeler was largely unutilized at Louisville, appearing in 25 games for the Cardinals his sophomore year, averaging 1.2 ppg and 2 rpg in just 8.7 minutes per contest. His size and presence will fill a void left by the departure of Jalen DeLoach.
It's beginning to seem more and more likely that VCU is on the verge of putting together an incredible roster of mostly local talent returning home to join the Rams.
