Rodriguez lead all scorers with 22 points on the evening to go along with his 9 assists in a game that often resembled the sloppy conditions outside of the building.
After jumping out to a 13 point halftime lead, VCU let the Panthers get as close as 4 points late, but then just as quickly rallied to a 78-62 win.
Larry Sanders posted his seventh double double of the season, finishing with 13 points, 13 boards, and 3 rebounds. Sanders was held to just 2 points in the second half.
Rozzell (12), Nixon (10), and Theus (10) rounded out the list of double digit scorers for the black and gold. Theus scored all of his 10 points in the first half.
The Rams hit just 4 shots from long range after hitting 20 the previous game against Towson.
VCU did most of it's damage this evening at the free throw line, hitting 30 of 35 in a game that saw a total of 52 fouls.
The Rams move to 15-5 on the season, 7-4 in the CAA heading into Wednesday's game at UNCW. After that the Rams face arch rival Old Dominion this coming Saturday at the Siegel Center, 7:30.
