Former Ram Jamie Skeen has inked a contract with Sutor Montegranaro in Italy’s first tier league. He has previously spent time in France and Israel since finishing his career at VCU.

“Adding a player with Jamie’s experience, in both the Israeli championship and college, is very valuable,” Head Coach Carlo Recalcati said. “He fits a need with our team, in a wing that can play both facing the basket and with his back towards the basket. He’s a very unselfish player that really looks to get his teammate involved. We’re very pleased with his addition.”

Last year, Skeen played in 27 games for Maccabi Ashdod in the Israeli Winner League, averaging 11.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.0 assists per night. His play helped guide the squad to the Israeli Cup Semifinals.

The Charlotte, N.C. native spent the summer with the Charlotte Bobcats Summer League squad in Vegas.

Skeen was the driving force behind VCU's magical Final Four run, being named the Southwest Region Most Outstanding Player. During the run, he averaged 17.5 points, 6.7 rebound ad shot 55% from beyond the arc and 48% from the field.

In less than two full seasons at VCU (he had to sit out the first semester of 2009-10 due to NCAA transfer rules), Skeen scored 838 points, grabbed 412 rebounds and shot nearly 52% from the field.</blockquote>
