Tillman leads Rams in defeat against visiting Colonials, 85-55

Justin Tillman scored 20 points and collected 13 rebounds to help the Rams fight off the visiting Colonials from George Washington University, 85-55.
Tillman, the Junior power forward, surged the Rams forward in the first half with 10 points and 7 rebounds tallied before intermission.
The Rams (14-3, 4-0 A10) front court accounted for 43 of VCUs points on the night. Seniors Mo Alie-Cox and Ahmed Hamdy-Mohamed added 14 and 9 points, respectfully.
Despite both teams grabbing 35 rebounds, VCU shot the ball with accuracy going<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>26-46 from two-point range for 56%. The Rams finished the night 7-18 from long range for 38%.
With only 8 turnovers, it was also the second consecutive game in which the Rams turned the ball over fewer than 12 times. The Colonials would finish the night with 17 turnovers leading to 22 points for the Rams.
VCU used a 16-6 run in the first half to distance themselves for the Colonials. During that run GW was held with zero field goals from the floor for seven and a half minutes.
Yuta Watanabe led the Colonials in scoring with 17 points on the night. The versatile player would also grab 7 rebonds for GW. Collin Smith would lead GW in rebounds with 8 total.
Starting GW center Tyler Cavanaugh, hampered by foul trouble, would finish the night with 6 points and 5 rebounds for the Colonials.
Jonathan Williams (11pts/5ast) was the only other Ram in double-digit scoring. Senior JeQuean Lewis would also account for 7 points and 7 assists on the night.
The Rams will travel to face the Wildcats of Davidson on Saturday, January 14th. That game is set to tip-off at 2:00pm and will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
