Former VCU forward Treveon Graham will finish his second season in the NBA tonight as his Charlotte Hornets face the Indiana Pacers on the road. It has not been an ideal season for the franchise (35-46 going into tonight's game), but Graham has been a key component of the roster, and continues to further his significance in the league as he becomes a free agent this off-season.
One of the biggest concerns teams had when looking at Graham was that his 3 point percentage was rather low at VCU (35% overall over 4 years). However, in two years with the Hornets, he's shooting 44% from long range. He's averaging 4.3 points and 1.9 rebounds through 16.7 minutes per game.
Michael Litos gave Graham the nickname “Direct Deposit"… "you don’t see the check but you know the money is in the bank." NBA fans are starting to notice these characteristics. Swarm & Sting, a Hornets fan-site believes he is their best kept secret:

At an undersized 6’6?, the forward’s biggest impact is in his hustle plays. Tune into any Hornets game and you can see Graham either cutting hard off-ball, setting great screens, scrapping for rebounds or diving into the stands for loose balls. The Buzz City faithful love him because he does the dirty work joyfully.

If you're looking to catch a game, you'll have to wait until next season, as he has missed the last 4 games and will likely miss tonight's game due a recent head injury and league concussion protocols. It's uncertain whether Graham will remain in the Hornets roster with the hiring of new General Manager Mitch Kupchak (formerly Lakers GM) and a few moving parts this offseason. However, his free agency certainly puts him in position to earn a much bigger paycheck (he's currently making $1.3M) next season, wherever he plays.
