VCU released their official non-conference schedule today, a schedule highlighted by a number of in-state teams including the University of Virginia and Virginia Tech, two programs that have avoided VCU in the past.
The Rams will open their season with the Redbirds of Illinois State on November 8th, then head to Charlottesville Nov. 12th for the first game in a recently inked home-and-home series against the Wahoos.
VCU finishes up what will be an exciting November with a Thanksgiving trip to the Puerto Rico Tip-Off where they'll take on Florida State for the first time since the 2011 Sweet 16 thriller, then potentially the likes of Georgetown and Michigan.
The Monarchs of ODU return for the Siegel Center for the first time in two seasons on December 8th. Later that month the black and gold will take on the Hokies of Virginia Tech in the Governor's Holiday Hoops Classic, December 21st.
Following that matchup, VCU returns to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn for a neutral court tip against the ACC's Boston College Eagles, then end the non-conference slate against a highly underrated Stony Brook team, January 3rd at the Siegel Center.
