VCU asks fans to show their colors during three key home games

<a href=""><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-8664" title="140b2jb" src="" alt="" width="532" height="234" /></a>Ready to start laying out all your VCU outfits for this upcoming hoops season? Well VCU Athletics rolled out a couple of recommendations earlier today.

For starters, the big announcement is that homecoming has been set for the February 2nd tip against the Rams of Fordham. The Athletic department is officially calling this one a "gold out", so don't be the cool guy or girl in the teal or pink shirt. You know you've got at least one gold VCU shirt in your hamper, wear it.

Prior to that game VCU will play their first-ever home Atlantic 10 contest, taking on the Flyers of Dayton. To celebrate the event, VCU and Lumber Liquidators will be "striping out the Stu" for the first time ever. Every fan in the Verizon Wireless Arena will have a t-shirt in their seat at an attempt to "Stripe the Stu" in Black and Gold. Fancy.

The final event will take place as VCU hosts Butler in a rematch of the 2011 Final 4 contest, this time as new A-10 foes on VCU's home court during a nationally televised ESPN contest. The call is a "black out", so dust off the old Darth Vader costume or just a clean black t-shirt and help make the Stu the black hole for the 12PM Saturday tip.
