Beginning Wednesday, VCU Athletics will host a silent auction with over 20 items up for bid to Rams fans. All proceeds from the event will benefit the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
“The devastation in Haiti is something that we will never comprehend,” Head Coach Shaka Smart said. “Anything that we can do to supply just a little bit of help is something we want to be involved with.”
The auction will start on Wednesday morning through VCUathletics.com. A link on the front page will provide a list of available items, along with an email address where fans can send their bids.
Along with the website, there will be a table set-up on the concourse level for the Rams’ home game against William & Mary on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. and the women’s game on Thursday against the University of Delaware at 7 p.m.
Three times a day, VCUathletics.com will be updated with the highest bid for each item. At 5 p.m. on Friday evening, the auction will close and the winners will be contacted to collect their winnings.
